JOINT STATEMENT TO CITIZENS OF PRATT COUNTY
REGARDING COVID-19 RESPONSE EFFORTS
Emergency Public Health Order EPHO 2020-1
The Pratt County Health Officer is issuing an Emergency Public Health Order (EPHO 2020-1) for Pratt County due to the impact of COVID-19 overburdening our local medical resources.
The Pratt County Health Department and the Local Health Officer have closely monitored the COVID-19 situation since its beginning. They have worked with community leaders to implement safety measures all while continuing daily operations to increase testing and response efforts.
The Pratt County Health Officer is issuing EPHO 2020-1 to provide for and ensure the health, safety, security and welfare of the citizens of Pratt County. Wearing masks or other face coverings in public, limiting the size of public gatherings, ensuring social distancing, and placing certain restrictions on activities are measures to slow and reduce the spread of COVID-19. Pratt County’s EPHO 2020-1 and Executive Order 20-52 are enforceable by law.
Pratt County is currently experiencing a 34.04% positivity rate, our local and area COVID-19 hospitalization rates are surging to where our hospitals are experiencing resource and staffing shortages due to an influx of COVID-19 positive patients, therefore our ability to maintain resources and contact trace is at its maximum capacity. We cannot continue at the pace we are and expect the situation to improve.
Pratt County Health Department, the City of Pratt, Pratt Regional Medical Center and local Law Enforcement are all in support of EPHO 2020-1.
We want to express our sincere gratitude to the citizens of Pratt County for playing your part to protect the health and safety of our community during these trying times.
We’re all in this together.
