The street department is responsible for maintenance and upkeep of all city streets, sidewalks, curbs and gutters. Pratt has many miles of city streets all of which are in good condition. Resurfacing of streets occurs on a rotational basis every few years. Pratt is located on 3 major highways 54, 281, and K-61. They work closely with the Kansas Department of Revenue to maintain the connecting links of those highways. The city works with residents to help defray costs of sidewalks and driveways in conjunction with replacement of city curbs and sidewalks.
