Municipal Court

The municipal court shall have jurisdiction to hear and determine cases involving violations of the ordinances of the city. Municipal court shall be held in the municipal courtroom in the Pratt law enforcement building on such days and at such hours as the municipal judge designates.

The municipal court shall be presided over by a municipal judge. The city manager shall appoint the judge of the municipal court.

Costs of Administration

Each person who enters a plea of guilty or nolo contendere to or is found guilty of a violation of a law of the city shall be assessed the costs of administration of justice in the municipal court. Costs shall be in the amount of $90 per case, plus witness fees and mileage. Municipal Court Clerk

This position is responsible for taking in and accounting for all fines, costs and restitution monies related to court proceedings. This is specialized work involving the following duties:

  • Administering oaths
  • Issuance of subpoenas and complaints
  • Responsibility for managing all municipal court processes
  • Warrants
